What is archaeobotany?

Archaeobotany is usually defined:

The recovery and identification of plant remains from archaeological contexts, which assist in reconstructing past environments.

Archaeobotany can approach to the past by analysing botanical remains in the archaeological record.

In Japan, many people are keen to archaeology, but the huge archaeological discoveries in Japan is unknown to foreign people. This blog will describe botanical aspects of Japanese archaeology.
