Recently I'm analyzing residue samples of potsherds and stone slabs found from 2 archaeological sites in Kagoshima taken in late December.
Today, I've finished observing samples from potsherds under brightfield with cross-polarized light. As the result, I found lots of starch granules from them.
I've already found starch granules from residues on potsherds in 3 sites in Japan, but there are more intact granules into samples I analysed today than those of the other 2 cases.
These results will be published in 2009.
