Starting my 2009

A happy new year.

Just now I read the following 2 papers.

  1. Märkle, T. and M. Rösch. 2008. Experiments on the effects of carbonization on some cultivated plant seeds. Vegetation History and Archaeobotany 17 (Supplement 1): S257–S263.
  2. Wollstonecroft, M.l.M., P.R. Ellis, G.C. Hillman, and D.Q. Fuller. 2008. Advances in plant food processing in the Near Eastern Epipalaeolithic and implications for improved edibility and nutrient bioaccessibility: an experimental assessment of Bolboschoenus maritimus (L.) Palla (sea club-rush). Vegetation History and Archaeobotany 17 (Supplement 1): S19–S27.
The1st paper presents an experimental report on cabonization of plant seeds, and the 2nd paper contains good photos of starch granules into plant tissues.
