today's reading

Today I read the following 2 papers.

  1. Aranguren, B., R. Becattini, M. M. Lippi and A. Revedin. 2007. Grinding flour in Upper Palaeolithic Europe (25 000 years bp). Antiquity 81:845–855.
  2. Zeder, M. A. 2006. Central questions in the domestication of plants and animals. Evolutionary Anthropology 15:105-117.
The 1st paper reports starch granules of Typha on a grindingstone from an archaeological sites in Italy, and the 2nd shows starch grains from wild and domestic yams, Dioscorea sp.
