On October 20 (Sat) to 21 (Sun), we had a meeting of our cooperative studies in Shiiba village, Miyazaki Prefecture.
In this meeting, we aimed to see slash and burn shifting cultivation as well, and we were able to hear some explanations by a farmer conducting it still now. Also, we collected modern plant samples from the farm conducted this cultivation.
Our next meeting will be opened at the 86th Rekihaku Forum "Plant utilization in the Jomon period" (URL: JAPANESE only) on December 15 (Sat) and 16 (Sun).
