Kamuitapukopushita site: sampling

On October 20th (Thu) and 21th (Fri), I joined in the survey of the Kamuitapukopushita site in Date city, Hokkaido. This site shows life styles during Kinsei Ainu Bunkaki (16-19 centuries).

At the site, I took sediment samples from crop remains on furrows in 2013. In this year's survey area, furrows and crop remains were unearthed.

My mission is to extract any starch granules from the remain as an evidence. I took samples from just only one remain, but we will conduct surveys next year as well.
