From February 25 (Mon) to 28 (Thu), I went to Leuven in Belgium. The purpose was to contract Agreement on Comprehensive Cooperation and Collaboration between our National Museum of Japanese History and Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. Relating this, we held a workshop in Digital Humanities.
In the workshop, researchers specializing in history, digital humanities, and others together with Drs Makoto Goto, Yuta Hashimoto, and me, introduced our research information, and mainly discussed our future research collaborations.
I'm not a DH researcher, but I presented my current study of analysing historical paper materials.
Ayako Shibutani. Small Things in Perspective: An Integrated Approach to Historical Paper Materials through Digital Infrastructure and Microscopy. Digital Humanities Workshop. Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium, February 27, 2019.
In addition, we visited Université Catholique de Louvain Library, and observed many Japanese historical materials.
As to the agreement between National Museum of Japanese History and Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, it was started from February 27 in 2019. In the future, both institutes will advance in research activities and other collaborations.
