Survey at the Yomei bunko

On May 23rd and 24th, I went to the Yomei Bunko (URL: just only in Japanese) in Kyoto for our survey of historical paper materials.

This is based on my projects, Grant-in- Aid for Scientific Research (A) (No. 19H00549), Challenging Research (Exploratory) (No. 18K18534), FY 2019 General Joint Research Project of the Historiographical Institute of The University of Tokyo (URL: just only in Japanese).

This survey was our first one, and we mainly conducted a meeting with the head and manager. But we observed many precious historical materials and took microscopic photos of their paper surfaces. Also, as my first trial, we used 4 digital microscopes to take many microscopic photos at the same time.

Our next survey will be conducted in the late June.
