Rice Farming and Chinese Civilization: Japanese and Chinese collaborative research meeting

From September 9th to 11th, I participated in the Japanese and Chinese collaborative research meeting at the Liangzhu Archaeological Site Archaeology and Conservation Center in Hangzhou, China. This was a part of our project "Rice Farming and Chinese Civilization."

On September 9, due to the big typhoon Faxai's attack to Chiba city, those who went to China from the Narita International Airport met severe transportation disturbances. The group including me were quite exhausted and arrived to China. But at the meeting on 10th, Japanese members reported results of human bone remains with processing scars and uses of poultry, and Chinese ones presented ancient water utilization, archaeozoological remains, stone materials for making stone tools, and archaeobotanical results. All participants were able to share current research results by Japanese and Chinese members,

Within the 6 project periods, it seems long and short, we gained many new results for the main theme exploring the base of Chinese Civilization. I thought these results will be developed in other research projects.
