On September 13-16, I participated in the 33rd EAJRS Conference held in Leuven, Belgium, and conducted a presentation and vendor workshop. This time, the theme was "Adapting to Changing Trends in Japanese Studies", and following this, our presentation reported the current research results of papers used for historical materials and the way to share data and metadata. At our vendor workshop, we showed the updates of databases in our institution, the Historiographical Institute of the University of Tokyo.

Our abstract is here.
Unfortunately, one of the two packages containing publicity materials we had sent in advance was detained by Belgian customs, and we were unable to receive my edited book "Science of Japanese Historical Materials" that we had planned to introduce in our presentation. But we could safely receive the other package and successfully run our booth.
one of the two boxes of publicity materials we had sent in advance was detained by Belgian customs, and we were unable to receive the book "The Science of Ancient Documents" that we had planned to introduce in our report, but we were able to safely receive the other box and successfully run our booth. Also, after my presentation, I received some invitations for new surveys of papers used for historical materials, and one of my university teachers Dr. Yutaka Yabuta had an interest in my research projects. I enjoyed this conference week.
I'm thanking to all of the EAJRS members.
